Accumulator Battery Manufacturers & Exporters Association of Bangladesh came into being in the year of 1983 under DTO act 1961 and companies act (act VII) 1913.

In 1983, some battery companies of that time like Rahimafrooz Batteries ltd, General Battery Company, B. R. Battery Corporation, Kohinoor Industries, Shakti Battery Co., Resco Battery Co. Bangladesh Accumulator & Engineering Wks Ltd thought to give shape of an association for mutual benefit of its member. They established Bangladesh Accumulator & Battery Manufacturers Association (BABMA). In 2008, it was rename with Accumulator Battery Manufacturers & Exporters Association of Bangladesh (ABMEAB).

Mr. Babu Kalidas Bhoumick was the Founder president & Mr. Feroz Rahim was Vice president respectively of the association.
